The Yellow Chilli Restaurant in Victoria Island, Lagos is the best place to sample a variety of gourmet meals, spicy local and pan-African delicacies. The restaurant is Nigeria’s finest, most exciting and original custodian of ethnic cuisine with passion and attitude. At The Yellow Chilli, the now iconic Jollof Fiesta remains as fun today as always, while the Seafood Okra, a delectable parade of fresh catch, is as delightful in the mouth as it is to the eyes.
If there's a way to give a negative rating, I would. The customer service representatives are just outright rude. I ordered a meal from there and they sent a dispatch without a phone! They called me and told me to wait outside for the dispatch as there would be no way for the dispatch to contact me. As if that wasn't enough, when i finally got the order the food was so small (this is a restaurant I buy frequently from so I have a good idea of the rations).
When I called to complain, the lady was outright rude and said nothing could be done about it.
Pretty good spot to get eastern Nigerian food. The first time I ate here, I had a delicious bowl of nkwobi and pounded yam then I ended up with some serious food poisoning.
2 years later, I tried the same dish and I had no issues.
Maybe I got sick the last time because it was my first traditional dish in about 6 years.
They are a bit on the pricey side for a local food restaurant, but I definitely do not mind closing my eyes to price. I also like that they don't go overboard on the prices of their drinks.
Used to be hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Lagos. But a friend was there recently and saw a big rat running across the dinning area. She informed the staff and they didn't see too bothered. Probably rats and a lot worse in restaurants generally, but as far as I am aware I will no longer go those places- including Yellow Chilli who I used to die for their seafood okra, egusi, and oha soup. So sad1
Love this place. And keep going back for more....especially their breaded prawns. It is quite rowdy, however, even with two floors. Plus limited parking. But does not detract from the fantastic food. Highly recommended.
