Bon Café? Rien de spécial! I have noticed this place while passing Aminu Kano several times and when a friend said she wanted to try it out, I eagerly agreed. When I got there I found a table to sit down and the waitress came to look at me. I say look because that’s all she did. She didn’t say hello or anything she just looked at me, ready to take my order, like I was supposed to magically know the menu. I asked for the menu which she brought and I finally settled on a chicken and sausage shawarma. Yeah so the menu said ₦800 then when the waitress asked the cashier, the cashier said it was ₦1000. To prove her point she told me to come look at the computer screen that stated the price. I told her no problem, but they should use the extra ₦200 to reprint their menu (the menu is just on normal A4 paper that is laminated).
For something that took about 30 minutes to make, my shawarma was warm at best. There was really nothing special about it. I think the best part was just the sausage in it. The mayo was much and the chicken was just blah. No pepper or any extra seasoning (I guess I should have asked for pepper). I wasn’t impressed.
It’s a small somewhat cozy café, but it started getting filled with guys working on their laptops talking pretty loud. When we left, we concluded, we wouldn’t be back.
